ongoing service + support for WNC
A team of 11 from Storyhill will travel to Asheville from October 28-30 to serve the community in various ways, including delivering the 10,000 meals packed on Serve Day to local organizations for distribution. As the colder months approach, there is an increasing need for coats, sweaters, and gloves, and we encourage ongoing donations to local collection sites supporting Western North Carolina (WNC). We will provide updates on where to take these items in future communications.
Looking ahead, Storyhill plans to schedule monthly trips to WNC, partnering with churches and organizations for ongoing relief efforts. These trips will include construction, meal preparation, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and other services as needed. We anticipate announcing another trip for November soon, expanding our long-term involvement in the region. The roads are growing safer, debris is being cleared, and essential services like water and cell coverage are restored. Still, the most impactful volunteer opportunities will arise over the coming months and continue for up to three years.
We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support of those who continue to serve individually through their own connections. Your dedication is truly inspiring. We encourage everyone to follow the Holy Spirit's leading and join us in our mission. Storyhill is honored to work with EPC churches in Montreat, Asheville, and surrounding areas to provide relief and support.
